The Church Bells

Bell ringers at rest

We have a regular and enthusiastic team of Sunday Service ringers, led by Captain Robert Bailey. At present, we have 12 ringers, but we would love to have more.

Method ringing, which is what we do, is often described as the English Discipline. It is an exercise for the mind and the body, and can provide great satisfaction and occasional frustration. Young and not so young are welcome to come and learn. (It is recommended that ringers weigh 5 stones or more!!!)

If you want to know more, call Robert Bailey on 01270 820522, or the secretary, Jennifer Walton on 01270 820051.

Nothing can beat the thrill of that joyous sound as we ring for weddings, New Year and call to worship.

The bells

We have twelve ringers who are all members of the North Staffordshire Association of Change Ringers.

In total St Margaret’s has 6 bells including a 10 cw.tenor.

Practice takes place every Tuesday between 3:30pm & 5:30pm.

If you require any other information, please contact Robert Bailey on 01270 820522.

When we ring in Betley
